Warner Bros. Event @ On Broadway

This past weekend, Kumar Management made a successful appearance at the King Ryan event at ‘On Broadway’ in downtown San Diego.

Music Exhibition @ On Broadway event center

The swanky On Broadway event center hosted the iShowcase Music Exhibition featuring Roderick Scott of Warner Bros. in San Diego. As usual, entrance into On Broadway was selective and exclusive. The crowd was vibrant with young aspiring artists and bands looking to impress Warner Bros. representative Roderick Scott, as well as other management and label companies interested in the talented bunch.

The showcase set-up resembled a ‘Battle of the Bands’ event. There were many groups and multiple genres, mostly hip-hop/Rap, but also some Rock. The first band of the night was “Theleventhour,” who Kumar Management was representing. Theleventhour hopped on stage and kicked off the night with a jump start, rocking the bass and working the drums. The showcase continued afterwards with various bands including G I Stonz, X. O.,  Menchinn as well as Philly Phil. A promising, impressing and entertaining line-up.

The event lasted four hours and including various live performances, introduction of the band and management labels, various media outlets, as well as interviews and photo-ops with Blast TV (San Diego local). As the night came to a wrap, the battle was ending and winners were announced.

The top three winners were  Elite, X.O.,  and the Kumar represented ‘Theleventhour.’  Theleventhour band won a One on One consultation with Roderick at the Warner Bros. offices in Burbank, California. According to sources, some of Warner Bros. smaller labels are looking to create a underground artist label.

K.U.M.A.R. – THOUSAND OF UNDERGROUND MUSIC ARTISTS RECORDINGS

The night was a success for Kumar Management and it’s affiliated artists. The staff of Kumar Management that was present at the event were able to create and branch out to multiple artists and media outlets. We look forward to our next event.

Oversoul

Kumar’s Artist  ‘Oversoul ‘ is a fresh young band making their way in the lively city of San Diego. The band began playing together in early 2010, and has already put out a fantastic demo (if interested in here, please contact the blogger,  CD $7) and played live.

Guitarist Mat Bishop, Drummer Adam Reis, Vocalist Alexa Villa, and Bassist Bryan Swoboda

The band is estatic, after getting a great start. Vocalist Alexa Villa, guitarist Mat Bishop, bassist Bryan Swoboda, and drummer Adam Reis,  are “planning to motivate and inspire all living things-the Oversoul. “

We went to a live performance of theirs this weekend down at “Dream Street” in Ocean Beach, San Diego. The band started the “Rock night” with their sound that can be compared to Paramore and Flyleaf.  They combined their original songs with a few covers songs, like Pat Benetar.

We enjoyed the performance at Dream street and you could tell the band was enjoying themselves. The band was supported by friends and family members.

Oversoul hopes to continue gaining a reputation in the music industry, with their unique sound, passion and confidence. They have quite high aspirations at a young age to create a career out of the niche and love they have for music.

Stay tuned for further performances from the up and coming OVERSOUL\

Sierra Leone & Cosmic View Rock the House

Sierra Leone’s Refugee All Stars world music style and Cosmic View‘s neo-jazz rocked the Coach House on Wednesday night, August 11th.

——————————————————-

Sierra Leone Refugee All Stars’  style is a meaningful catchy exciting world music beat. Their band originates from Sierra Leone and plays music world wide, proud that they have escaped the harsh war zone of Sierra Leone. They formed this band in the Refugee camps to keep spirits up and alive.

Cosmic View’s style is a neo-pop Jazz and R & B, with roots from Earth, Wind, and Fire, Alice Coltrane and McCoy Tyner. Sierra Leone and Cosmic View together rocked their styles to a  healthy crowd at San Juan Capistrano’s exciting “Coach House.”

Refugee All Stars started their appearance with a drumline through the crowd. Beating the conga drums, chanting and dancing. The 8 members made their way to the stage to set up and begin to play their music. The members of the band awed the crowd because they not only jammed out their own instrument to make some great sounding music, but they rotated around the stage to different instruments and continued to play on various instuments. Instruments they played included handheld drums, bass guitar, trumpet.

With such stage performance, Refugee All Stars & Cosmic View certainly gave the crowd their money’s worth; so much that they couldn’t resist the ‘ENCORE!!’

CEO of Kumar, Devin S. Parker, was at the performance.
